Dr. Alberto Sáenz
Dr. Alberto L. Sáenz graduated in 1994 from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After working for an engineering consulting firm for 6 years, he decided to embark on a new career path. Dr. Sáenz attended the Medical University of South Carolina where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2006. Dr. Sáenz proceeded to complete a General Practice Residency (GPR) at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. As a dental physician resident working in a hospital setting, he gained invaluable knowledge and technical skills from an experienced faculty.
He was an associate dentist at various dental practices before taking over as the owner of Barnwell Family Dentistry in July 2012. Dr. Sáenz recognizes the tradition of exceptional dental care that was provided by his predecessors since 1954, and he intends to continue the tradition of providing local families with the best possible dentistry with the help of his excellent team.
Dr. Sáenz is a member of the South Carolina Dental Association, American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. One of his main goals is educating patients about their oral health and how it impacts their overall health, as well as helping them overcome a fear of the dentist and giving them a smile that is functional and aesthetically pleasing.
He married his wife, Catherine, in 2006, and together they have a daughter, Gisele and a son, Zachary. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, working in his yard and studying the Bible.
Amber Gillam
Office Scheduling/Financial Coordinator
Amber was born in Pima County, Arizona, but raised in Asheville, North Carolina; she has been in Barnwell for the past 17 years. In preparation for her work, she studied data entry and medical documentation. For Amber, the best parts of her work include helping and meeting new people and working with people who feel like family in a fun and happy place.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her two children and husband, as well as close friends and family.
Madison Renew
Front Desk Receptionist
Madison is a native of Barnwell, SC. She studied Applied Science/Business Administration at LowCountry Technical College in Bluffton, SC. She worked as a waitress through college which aided her with interaction in dealing with different personalities. Madison moved back to Barnwell and began working at Barnwell Family Dentistry as a Front Desk Receptionist. Her past work history provided her with the perfect opportunity to meet and help others. Madison enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her hobbies include shopping and going to the beach!
Bridgett Jenkins Jackson
Certified ED Dental Assistant
Bridgett is an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant who has been with our practice since 2019. She received her diploma from Aiken Technical College. Bridgett is dedicated to excellent patient care. She ensures that our patients feel comfortable throughout the entire treatment process by attending to all their needs and answering any questions they might have. When not at the office, Bridgett loves spending time with her wonderful family and traveling.
Kaley Googe Jones
Certified ED Dental Assistant
Kaley is originally from Barnwell and now resides in Williston with her husband and two boys. Kaley is an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant who received her diploma from Aiken Technical College. She is dedicated to excellent patient care and ensures that our patients always feel comfortable throughout the entire treatment process by attending to all their needs. She is also very keen to answer any questions or concerns patients may have. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Samantha Ortiz
Registered Dental Hygienist

Originally from Allendale, Samantha has been working with Barnwell Family Dentistry patients since January 2014. She was trained at Midlands Tech in Columbia and has an Associate Degree in health science, dental hygiene. Samantha enjoys her work, helping patients keep their mouths healthy.
